RefTracker Optional Modules
RefTracker can be supplemented by a number of current and future modules.
RefTracker Zserve
Provide a Z39.50 server function so that the RefTracker Knowledge database can be searched concurrently with other Z39.50 compliant databases such as your library management system. You will need a Z39.50 compliant client such as RefTracker Zgate, or a Z39.50 compliant client to your library management system, to utilize this feature. RefTracker Zserve is in development now.
An easy to use web based interface that provides concurrent search capabilities over all, or a chosen group of, local or Internet based Z39.50 databases forming them into one, or a number of groups of cohesive sources of information. An example of its use is to enable one search to retrieve information from both your Altarama RefTracker knowledge database (when its Zserve module becomes available), and from your Z39.50 compliant library management system, but it can be used with many other types of information. RefTracker Zgate is available now and will be of interest to any organisation regularly searching groups of Z39.50 compliant databases. Learn more »
RefTracker Client File Interface
Add the ability to check client identifying numbers against a customer supplied client details file, and to extract contact details and entitlements to levels of service from that file. At a later stage this interface may also allow for costs to be uploaded to another system. This additional functionality is most likely to be required by academic and special libraries.
RefTracker Special Library Module
Add more functions to RefTracker that are specifically designed to enhance the operations of research libraries.
RefTracker Union module
Allow multiple RefTracker systems to contribute to a central shared knowledge database and for library selected information to be stripped from question history before submission.
